Laura Feldman is a member of the Spare Room poetry collective, the Lions
of Batucada samba band, and Omo Ire, an Afro-Cuban music ensemble. Her
work has been published in various anthologies and magazines over the
years, including: Playing with a Full Deck, Avec, O/2 Anthology,
Poetic Briefs, Texture, Black Warrior Review, Northwest Review, Central
Park, Situation, and Ink. Her first chapbook, CafŽ Songs, was published
in San Francisco in 1983; a new chapbook, Prosthetic Landscapes, was
recently published by UnnuM Books in Portland.

Prosthetic Landscapes:

Entering a landscape, a poem, a foreign country, a photograph, a room, a
memory, the tourist is constantly shaping and being shaped by observing
herself in the world while awake.


Sarah Mangold's first book, Household Mechanics (New Issues, 2002), was
selected by C.D. Wright for the New Issues 2001 Poetry Prize. She has an
MFA in creative writing from San Francisco State University, and
currently lives in Seattle where she edits Bird Dog, a magazine of
innovative writing and art.


Spare Room is a semi-regular reading series with a focus on innovative
writing.
