Peace Words: Writers & Musicians Against Hunger

A marathon benefit reading and performance

Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday,
and raising funds for Afghan famine relief (Oxfam America)
and the local struggle against hunger (Oregon Food Bank)

More than three dozen writers and musicians will perform, including Ursula LeGuin, Primus St. John, Judith Barrington, Crystal Williams, Rob Blakeslee, Glen Moore, Michael Stirling, and many more!

Suggested donation $10-15 (no one turned away)


In 1999, the USDA ranked Oregon 6th in the nation for food insecurity and WORST in the nation for outright hunger. More than 40% of those receiving food aid in Oregon are children. The problem is serious here, and the situation in Afghanistan is disastrous.
